During the Coronavirus, home isolation, the uncertainty of tomorrow, we often fall victim to stress, anxiety, and a nervous atmosphere.

Today I will show you 6, easy to do, life hacks for stress management.

STRESS

Stress is defined as the body’s response to any “demands” made to it.

For example, we have some events that cause that reaction in us.

It can be, for example divorce – the body’s reaction is then unpleasant, causing pain, suffering and thus various injuries in the body and also mental damage – this is called distress.

Another event may be winning the lottery – then we have a positive response of the body, mobilizing us to action and we call it eustress.

Stress can cause many diseases – such as heart disease, cancer, depression, and many more.

The ability to manage stress will help you avoid many diseases.

Here are 6 simple anti-stress methods you can use at home:

  1. Avoid the stressor

Stressor – factor causing stress. It can be some behavior, action, an event that causes tension in your body.

How to do it?! How to avoid stressor at work or while your child is crying?

Very easy – just find time just for yourself. Allow yourself to move away from the situation. Give yourself time to do your favourite activities such as:

– reading a book,

– working in the garden,

– exercise,

– doing yoga,

– painting,

– knitting,

– meditating,

– doing puzzles.

And whatever you like to do and what only you can do, only for yourself – alone.

Try it! Start from 10-15 minutes a day!

Find something you always wanted to do and never had time for it and start!

You say it’s difficult because of children, because of the husband because… how could you leave a child at this moment?

I am not telling you to leave a crying child, but once you have mastered the situation, let yourself breathe from it.

Beginnings are always difficult.

Show your children, husband – teach them that everyone should have a moment just for themselves. Maybe it won’t be easy the first time, but you will see that in time they will know that at 18.00 there is time for mom and you can’t disturb her, and then they will even have time for themselves.

  1. Relax

Meditation is the most popular form of relaxation.

Find a quiet place where nobody will disturb you. If you claim you can’t meditate, breathe. Take a few deep breaths in and out. Focus on your breath.

If you think that meditation is incompatible with your religion, then focus on prayer – it is also a type of meditation.

  1. Be active

Be physically active.

It’s best to start the day with exercise. Yoga stimulates our vagus (vagus nervus) more than any exercise. What is the vagus nerve? It is a nerve stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system responsible for the health of our body, stem, immune cells, a healthy heart, a healthy digestive tract, respiratory system and abdominal cavity. Also quite an important nerve 😉

Don’t you like yoga?

It doesn’t matter – go for a walk, run, ride a bike, or exercise at home with Youtube. There are plenty of free options that you can use for your healthy body and spirit. Just practice!

  1. Look for the positive sides of life

By positive, I mean those that make you happy.

Of course, happiness is a very relative and philosophical concept. Happiness is when you focus on what makes you happy and what gives you a smile on your face. And when a stressful situation arises, remember that it’s temporary and will pass. You can’t do anything about it – just accept it and focus on what gives you happiness. It will not change the situation, but it will change your attitude towards life and make it easier to go through difficulties.

Can’t find the positives?

Stand in front of the mirror and smile. So honestly and from the bottom of your heart! It is difficult? Remember some funny situations in your life or when you were happy.

Believe me, this works wonders!

  1. Get help from others

We live in times of social isolation. Even before the whole affair with the Coronavirus, people were heading towards increasing isolation – we locked ourselves in homes and limited contacts with others. Television and the internet – replaced direct contacts.

Research shows that the happiest people are those who spend at least one hour a day with loved ones. Now it is difficult to meet, but use your phone, skype and WhatsApp to talk to people closest to you.

You’ll be surprised how ready they are to support you, listen to you, advise you (you don’t always have to listen to this advice) and express your opinion.

  1. Run – if you have to

This is one of the most radical ways to deal with stressful situations, but sometimes necessary.

In case of:

– physical violence,

– psychological violence,

– atrocities,

– arguing,

– complaints,

– rumors,

– constant criticism.

It’s simply better to turn around and leave, run away, save your mental and physical health.
